I must have done a half decent job of it last year, ‘cause they invited me back again for 2019. Second time I had my name on a t-shirt. The first time was the same gig the year before. It’s a proper nice feeling walking through town and seeing people in the hoodies and shirts.
My hair grew a lot in a year!
Bigman said I looked like that monkey that took a photo of himself. I don’t care, I was too smiley at seeing myself on a poster with this bunch of legends.
Long may it continue chaps.
I lived and studied in Luton for a while. Whilst I was there I worked at a little real ale pub called The Two Brewers. It was full of characters that place. Some of the interesting people I met there were the band Cerberus who formed in 1988 and haven’t stopped partying yet: https://www.facebook.com/Cerberusluton/
They played my 21st birthday shindig, which was a memorable night for a lot of reasons!
When I left Luton I could just about limp my way through a couple of four chord covers. By 2018 I was confident I could do them a set they would enjoy, so I dropped Chris a messaged and blagged myself an invite. It was pretty phenomenal to be able to catch up with friends I hadn’t seen in years.
A fair few people didn’t recognise me at first, but then it had been a decade and I had hair back then. I figured as I was opening up for proper rock stars I better make some clobber so I looked the part. Then I played folk songs. Queen of false advertising me :D
